January 2010

In response to the devastating earthquake in Haiti, we’re screening “The Other Side of the Water” at a number of benefit events, including ones at The Brooklyn Museum, Downtown Community Television, and at Barbes in conjunction with the Alan Lomax Archive.  Details on the film’s News Page.


January 19th, 2010

Ibis has created a new Composer Portrait of Cuban jazz legend Paquito D’Rivera for the American Composers Orchestra.


December 2009

Ibis is producing a series of videos for Kronos Quartet’s 35th Anniversary Perspectives Series at Carnegie Hall.


November 16th

Ibis produces video for LVMH’s new partnership with American Composers Orchestra. See it HERE.


November 9th

New documentary portrait of vocalist Erin Gee and Director and Director/Performer Colin Gee is online now and will be screened at Carnegie Hall on November 30th during American Composers Orchestra’s Orchestra Underground concert.


October 15th

The Effects of Incarceration on Families” Update: First documentary is complete

This Ford Foundation-funded project is a youth-produced documentary exploring the impact of the prison system of families.  The Teens have finished their first 14-minute documentary and its getting enthusiastic reception by activist community. Screenings are planned at the CUNY Graduate Center and the Ford Foundation in the upcoming months.


September 15th

Ibis Productions’ interviews with pianist Lang Lang and pipa player Wu Man featured in short documentaries for Carnegie Hall’s China Festival.  Videos can be viewed HERE.


September 7th, 2009

Our feature documentary “The Other Side of the Water” screened at Brooklyn Academy of Music’s Bam Rose Cinemas.

Ibis is a Brooklyn-based full service video production company focusing on contemporary music, transnational culture, criminal justice, and youth media. Run by filmmaker and educator Jeremy Robins, Ibis’ projects have been screened everywhere from film festivals, to MTV, to Carnegie Hall, to the Department of Corrections.  Ibis’ first feature documentary “The Other Side of the Water” is being released in 2009.
